Quad Mega Fly Workshop w/ Jim Foster
Ever wanted to join in a quad line mega fly at a big kite festival but you are not sure your skills are good enough, or you just don't know the calling style and figures? Well now is your chance. Join us in a causal, no pressure setting to get involved and learn the ropes. Jim Foster has participated and led Quad Mega fly's across the US and in Europe. He will walk you through the calls, standard figures and know how to get you comfortable joining the fun.

Additionally Jim will cover the grid flying style that will be used for the World Record Super-sized quad mega fly attempt in Long Beach Washington in Aug of this year as part of the Washington State International Kite Festival. The grid flying style allows for more kites / kite fliers to fit in to a space by staggering the fliers. Click here for an introduction to skills needed for grid flying.

All skill levels of quad line fliers are welcome. Bring your kite and a sack lunch to join the fun.

The best deal in town! Compete in as many disciplines as you want!
    Hot Tricks!
    • At every BASKL sponsored event you will get your chance to show your stuff. Rules are the same as at BKF (two trick pilots must "fly-off" against each other in three alternating 30- second bursts of radical trick flying), which means just about anything goes. This competition format is fast, exciting, and fun for competitors and spectators alike. Who can handle the pressure! Open to quad, dual-line or single-line sport kites. Starts right after the flier’s meeting so we recommend you come early, get registered and have your kite ready.
    Precision Competitors
    • Individual Experienced and Master precision events will be flown "PROGRAM PRECISION" style which is defined in the AKA Appendix to International Sport Kite Rulebook.
Novice will continue to be flown "STANDARD" style.
You can download all the rules from the AKA web site
  • Indoor: $20.00 (Competition and Free Fly)
First time indoor fliers can "Free Fly" for free.
